Apple Cider Vinegar

Two main reasons that cause itchy scalp are dryness and yeast formation on the scalp. Vinegar is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and hence it is very much effective in fighting against yeast formation. Also, vinegar is known to balance the pH level of the scalp and hence it also treats dryness. You can mix vinegar and water in equal amounts and put the solution on your scalp using cotton. Now wrap a towel around your head and leave it for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, wash your hair properly with shampoo.

Tea tree oil

Similar to vinegar, tea tree oil also is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. But along with this, it also has other properties like antifungal and antibacterial that is very much effective for itchy scalp. The best way is to add about 10 drops of tea tree oil in half cup of baby shampoo and use this mixture to wash your hair daily.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera not only has anti-inflammatory properties but is also a moisturizing agent. Hence, it helps you in getting rid of any kind of infection of yeast formation and also keeps your scalp from getting dry. Using aloe vera is quite easy where you just need to apply the fresh gel of the leaf on your scalp and then wash it off with shampoo after about half an hour.

Coconut oil

Coconut can be said to be the best moisturizer for your hair. Often many people may have itchy scalp due dry scalp and in this case, coconut oil can be the best remedy. Apply a few drops of coconut oil on your scalp and leave for an hour time. Now wash it off with a good shampoo. It is said that it is a good habit of every time massaging your scalp with coconut water before you shampoo your hair.

Baking soda

Baking soda is an exfoliating agent and hence removes fungus from your scalp that is the main reason for dandruff. To use baking soda, first you need to massage your hair scalp with olive oil well. Now after 15 minutes, mix baking with water to make a paste. Apply this paste on your scalp and leave it for another 15 minutes time and then wash it off with water.

Lemon Juice

Lemon is known for its antiseptic property and also the vitamin C helps in cleansing the scalp well. This is known to be the best home remedies for dandruff and itchy scalp. Mix a few drops of lemon juice in coconut oil and massage well into your scalp. Leave it for an hour and then shampoo well. You can also use lemon juice in yogurt in case if you wish to have soft hair.

Sesame seed oil

Sesame oil is lubricating and one of the most nourishing oil for your hair. Warm some sesame seed oil and massage with it on your scalp for about 10 minutes at night before going to bed. After the massage, wrap a warm towel around your head and take it off after 10 minutes. The next morning, wash off your hair with a good moisturizing and gentle shampoo.

Bananas

Bananas are said to be a nature conditioner for hair because they are great moisturizers. It helps in cleaning the scalp and moisturizing it. You can mash two ripe bananas along with one ripe avocado and apply this paste on your scalp and leave for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you can wash off your hair with clear water or using shampoo.

Jojoba oil

Many experts consider jojoba oil to be having similar properties such as that of the sebum. It hydrates the scalp and rejuvenates it to provide you a healthy scalp and beautiful hair. You can simply massage your scalp with jojoba oil at night before going to sleep and then wash it off the next day with a good shampoo.

Witch Hazel

Many times many people face the problems of the itchy scalp due to heavy hair styling and use of blow dryers on hair. Witch hazel acts as a natural astringent that helps in treating inflammation of the scalp. Thus, it is again a great remedy to treat itchy scalp. You can use hazel oil by mixing one part of it with two parts of water and then massaging it gently into your scalp for 10 minutes. Now you can wash your hair with a good shampoo.

Olive oil, mayonnaise and broccoli puree

Broccoli is known to cleanse your scalp well while mayonnaise is a great way to get rid of dandruff and hair lice. On the other hand, olive oil will keep your scalp from over oiliness. To get rid of itchy scalp, you can mix olive oil, mayonnaise and ground broccoli to make a paste. Now apply this paste on your scalp and then leave for a few minutes. Later on, rinse your hair well and then wash it off with a good shampoo.
