Menstrual Disorder

There are a few types of menstrual disorder, and we will discuss all of them in details.

Dysmenorrhea

It is pain during the menstrual period.  Post-pubescent women are mostly affected by this. Studies reveal that 50% of such women are affected, and 5% of them are incapacitated for some 1-3 days of every month. Now, even this gynecological disorder can be classified into two:

1) Primary dysmenorrhea:

You are going to have a painful menstrual cycle without finding any signs of the organic lesion. You are going to have it mostly briefly and on the first day of the menstrual cycle. Most of the times you find this dysmenorrhea in the ovulatory menstruation cycles, and it mostly happens in the early stages i.e. within the first five years after the menarche. It does improve as you grow up.

For treatment of this kind of dysmenorrhea, there has to be inhibition of prostaglandin and cycles should be suppressed. There are few more methods like having some hot food or giving some kind of heat. You can also exercise and use mild analgesics. Don’t go for narcotics at all. If you have some extra complaints which can suppress menses go for oral contraceptives or some continuous progesterone-like Norplant. If there is no such complaint, you can have naproxen or suppression of periods.

2) Secondary dysmenorrhea:

One-fifth of the women having dysmenorrhea suffers from this kind.

Abnormal Bleeding in the Uterine

If there is an imbalance in hormones or during pregnancy, there can be such excessive bleeding. Also, any abnormality in the structure and cancer can be the reason of more bleeding in terms of amount or frequency or the duration. Now there are two ways you can define this gynecological disorder. If the person suffering is ovulatory, the reasons can be endometrial polyps or some chronic endometritis. Submucous fibroids can also be the reason why there is such abnormal bleeding. Well, if the person is anovulatory, it can be because of dysfunctional uterine bleeding which is commonly known as DUB or due to menarche. At times, the extrinsic effects of the flow of hormones or the perimenopausal flow of blood which is either hyperplastic or neoplastic can cause this.

Treatments are also separate herein.

1) For anatomic abnormality:

There are surgeries where they have to remove the polyps or the fibroids. For chronic endometritis, there has to be antibiotic taken as prescribed by the doctor. They can also go for removing IUD. Hysterectomy which is ablation of endometrial is usually considered for the patients suffering from this disease.

2) For anovulation abnormality:

Either they go for progestins which are exogenous along with the estrogens or both individually. In girls that are going to have menarche soon and in a woman who are going to have menopause, if there is bleeding, consider for equine estrogens which are conjugated.

Premenstrual Syndrome

Also referred to as PMS, which usually a woman experiences while the luteal phase is going on and it gets accompanied by the ovulatory cycles. It can bring mood disorders and changes size of thyroid etc.

Incontinence in urine

Lose of urine here can take place even while laughing or coughing. To treat them, one must exercise especially pelvic floor ones. There are also some devices to stabilize especially pelvic floor ones. There are also devices that help in stabilizing the bladder of the neck.

Fibroids

Here the chance of malignant is less and don’t hold too much of mass,

There can be cancers in breasts or any other part of ovary and vagina. So go for surgery by consulting a doctor and start life anew after you are fit again!
