Nowadays you find most of the people complaining about common cold and cough which also bring in sickness. Fever is not a disease. It is a symptom of the onset of any disease. So, is a cough and cold. But they really keep us fatigued. We feel so tired and taken off. Neither can we smell something nor can we have something nice to eat. the foods don’t really taste good. But to prevent this, there are some things you need to know. For e.g.: You have to know what to eat when sick:

1) Simply when you wake up, you need to practice gargling. In lukewarm water, add some salt and start gargling the water near your neck region. Repeat it sometimes for about half an hour. When you feel relieved from coughing for cold, you can go ahead.

2) You need to have something warm. At the morning, you can have milk which is to be pasteurized and well heated.

1) Chicken soup with noodles- yummy it is

2) Fish good for the taste-buds also

Tuna, salmon along with the mackerel are a very rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. It helps in reducing the inflammation in your body. If this is chronic, you will have to be in trouble later if not treated properly at early stages. It doesn’t let the immune system of the body function properly and you can have a cold and cough soon. You need to have fish liver oils and other such foods to keep yourself strong.

3) Shellfish and Oysters- have it

It is very rich in zinc which has got strong power to fight sickness and cough and cold. It will also keep away the side effects like nausea or a headache. But then it is unhygienic to have them raw. You better get it cooked to get rid of the bacteria present in it.

4) Garlic can heal it

The compound allicin present in the garlic helps it to prevent cold. It has got the capability to boost up the immunity system. Raw garlic is not easy to consume due to its smell and taste, so you can have an orange juice while consuming it. It also gives a sign of relief from the congestion.

7) Yogurt along with kefir.

Are bacteria always harmful? No. There are plenty of bacteria in our intestinal walls too which are rather helpful. So, you need to have some yogurt and kefir too, to get rid of ailments. Now this is really much helpful. A hot cup of this drink can get you rid of congestion in the throat and give a soothing effect to the throat. Be it green tea or black tea or white tea, it gives immense pleasure to have it in days of cold and cough. The catechins fight the flu. 9) Red Pepper and Broccoli- nice to see too

Red pepper has got Vit C in it. When you are sick, you need to have a lot of vitamins. It helps you in getting rid of cold. Now to fight the invaders, we need to have antibodies. These helps in producing proteins that make the immunity system further stronger and thus helping us to be fit again.

10) Mushrooms.

Well, although there are a variety of mushrooms available in the market, all of them has the common property of making our immunity system, even more, stronger due to the antioxidant present in it. 11) Egg- don’t you love it?

With the rich content of zinc, it arrests your cold and shortens it. You can have boiled eggs or omelet each day in the breakfast.

12) Sweet potato- get it

Add some olive oil and sprinkle salt on it. It has vitamin- A which will increase production of WBC again and also keeps the mucous membranes of the boy healthy.

You should also have a vegetable juice and drink plenty of coconut water in order to keep hydrated. Lime juice also helps when you are sick. Cauliflower increases the level of glutathione which helps in fighting flu.
